CPAN Web Feeds

I’m still thinking about adding stuff to this blog. I’d like to add some web feeds to the sidebar. In particular, I’d like a feed of my CPAN uploads. I don’t expect it to be a particularly busy feed (although having such blatant evidence of my laziness might galvanise me into being a bit more productive) but was surprised to see that such a feed doesn’t seem to exist.

CPAN has a “latest uploads” feed, And there are a couple more documented in the FAQ, but none of those do what I want.

It seems a simple enough idea. I can pull down the latest uploads feeds and filter it on my name. But before I do that I thought it was worth invoking the power of the lazyweb and asking if anyone else has already scratched that itch.

The FAQ needs more details adding. You can pass arguments. Does this return what you want
    http://search.cpan.org/rss/search.rss?author=davecross&desc=1

    Graham,
Thanks for the suggestion. A couple of comments on that feed. Firstly, it doesn’t include timestamps, so I can’t use it to say what was uploaded when – although it looks like it’s sorted in descending date ot upload. And secondly, RSS 0.91! Wow, nostalgia ๐Ÿ™‚
Happy to hack on search.rss (or create search.atom) if you want any help updating it.

    Graham,
Thats fabulous, thanks. Can I please one make one really picky suggestion? It would be great if the element contained the URL of the actual distribution rather than just to my account. Currently all the elements have the same URL:
    http://search.cpan.org/~davecross/
That would be better (in my opinion) as, say:
    http://search.cpan.org/~davecross/Array-Compare-1.17/
