One question you'll need to decide is whether to include people's names when their official style doesn't mention it. For example, the correct formal style for Prince Charles is simply "The Prince of Wales", but "The Prince Charles, Prince of Wales" is probably clearer, especially for more obscure members of the royal family.
For helping, any kind of machine-readable data file containing the names and relevant dates would be very useful.
And, yes, this is another example of clarity winning out. There will be many people called "Prince of Wales" in the database. I think adding the name is helpful here.
